Building 16 - Politecnico di MilanoWelcome in SPADlab website!

We are a Politecnico di Milano research group lead by prof. Sergio Cova and we work on Single-Photon Avalanche Diode (SPAD) detectors. We design and develop SPAD detectors and we exploit them in various applications, with custom solutions.

SPAD detectors can be used for several applications requiring single-photon level sensitivity and very high timing resolution, such as automotive, quantum cryptography, astronomy, molecular biology and diagnostics, non-invasive VLSI circuit test.

We are open for international and national collaborations with both academic and industrial partners: just look at the topic of your interest and contact the reference person. If you need to count photons or to precisely tag photons arrival times, we are the people you are looking for.

For students of Politecnico di Milano this website is also a portal for letting them know an important research field of their university and for having some information about thesis works.

We care about photons, because every photon counts!
